The Caldwell Merchants Association invites parents and children to this years' "Safe Halloween" event to be held along Bloomfield Avenue.
Trick or Treating along the Avenue in Caldwell will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 12-5 pm with the following locations having police crossing the children (and parents): Roseland Ave, Gould Place and Central Avenue during 12-5 pm.
Our thanks to the Caldwell Merchants who participate in this program for the children and the Caldwell Police Department who keeps them safe.
WHY IS CALDWELL TRICK OR TREATING ON SATURDAY?
After discussing with merchants and our board, the decision to ask for crossing guards to be provided by our Caldwell Police Department on Saturday was made for 2 reasons:
- Many stores and restaurants are closed on Mondays. Having it on Saturday ensures children would not be disappointed with fewer opportunities for trick or treats.
- There are at least 3 other major Halloween events on Saturday in Caldwell for children.
If you choose to be open or are open on Mondays and choose to give out candy on Monday we ask you to see the two days as an additional opportunity to showcase your store/restaurant. Why not offer coupons to the adults to bring customers back to you after Halloween. It is, after all, additional advertising for you.
We always welcome and encourage everyone to participate in the discussion of upcoming events at our bi-monthly meetings.
